Description
This is a 500-mile adventure loop weaving through the breathtaking forests of Pennsylvania. Starting near McElhattan, the eastern portion follows sections 7, 8, and 9 of the MABDR before veering west into the heart of the PA Wilds and looping back to the start. Riders will traverse mostly dirt and gravel roads through Pennsylvania State Forests, with scenic paved stretches adding variety to the ride.
Designed in four sections, the route offers convenient stops for food, camping, or lodging at the end of each leg. As a loop, riders can start and finish anywhere, making it highly accessible. The PA Wilds BDR-X delivers a similar experience to the MABDR, but with added optional advanced sections for those craving more challenge. Ride it alongside the MABDR for an extended adventure or tackle it solo for an epic long-weekend BDR experience.
The official BDR-X map features detailed inset boxes listing on-route and nearby gas stations, lodging (including campgrounds), food and markets, town and pass elevations, trailheads, scenic overlooks, and a master elevation profile. Every BDR-X map is printed on "Trail Tough" HopSyn waterproof, tear-resistant paper, ensuring durability for the toughest backcountry conditions.
